The 2015 fire officers for the Unexcelled Fire Company were sworn in on January 1, 2015. The ceremony was performed by the Neptune Fire District 1 Board of Fire Commissioners.
Daniel Harker was appointed Assistant Chief of the Neptune Fire Department. Chief Harker has been a member of the department for 15 years and has previously served as Unexcelled Fire Company’s Captain.
The fire company line officers include Captain Joseph Mauro, Lieutenant Phil Williams and Lieutenant Donald Colarusso.
The fire company executive officers are President Robert McDonald, Vice President Donald Colarusso, Secretary Charles Borges and Treasurer Lester Harker.
The trustees are Head Trustee John Rystephanuk, Frank Sutphin and Otis Henderson.
In 2014, the Unexcelled Fire Company responded to 600 fire emergencies. It is the busiest fire company in Neptune and operates out of their firehouse located at 1120 Corlies Avenue in downtown Neptune. They respond with Engine 34-4-75 and Tower Ladder 34-4-90.
The company has 25 active firefighters and has been serving Neptune Township since 1888.
